The neighborhood
River North was once a district of warehouses and factories along the Chicago River. Many of those buildings became lofts, and the area grew into a center for galleries, design showrooms and restaurants.
The Merchandise Mart anchors the riverfront, and the Chicago Riverwalk is steps away.
